In 2012, wild-sourced imports by the EU comprised 36 010 live plants, all of which were imported from Turkey for commercial purposes. Although imports of wild-sourced live plants more than doubled between 2011 and 2012, imports decreased by 86% over the period 2003-2012 overall.
