L. undulatum met the sharp increase criterion in 2011, with imports of live corals increasing by 161% between 2010 and 2011. In total, 5739 live, wild-sourced corals were imported in 2011; all imports were imported directly from Australia for commercial purposes. Adequate management of coral resources generally appears to be in place in Australia (see for instance SRG 64/11). As per CITES Notification No. 2012/047,
Lithophyllon is one of the coral taxa where reporting trade at the genus level is acceptable;
Lithophyllon mokai also occurs in Australia.
